Honey oats wheat bread

Ingredients
Wheat flour-2 cups
Oats-3/4 cup (includng some for sprinkling)
Yeast-2tsps
Milk-1 1/2 cup
Honey-1/4 cup
Butter-1/2 cup
Sesame seeds-1tsp
Salt a pinch
Method
Boil milk and add yeast honey oats to the warm milk(keep 1tbsp aside for sprinkling) and butter mix and keep aside for ten mins.
Mix flour and salt.After ten minutes add the yeast honey oats butter mixture to the flour and start kneading till it becomes a smooth dough.If required add two or three tbsp milk more if your flour requires it for kneading or if too much sticky add little flour.For me this proportion was exact.Keep aside in a greased vessel with oil applied on dough amd covered with wet towel in a warm place for two hours.
After two hours punch out air from raised dough and knead for ten mins and shape to a loaf shape and keep in greased loaf pan under wet towel un a warm place for an hour for peoofing.
After an hour so a milk wash (brush with milk) on top of raised dough and sprinkle oats and sesame seeds.Bake in preheated oven at 190c for 40-45mins.
Cool on wire rack and cut only after it completely cools.Yum soft honey oats bread is ready.😊
Store in zip lock bags to retain softness.

  1. are you using Dry yeast? . Will the yeast not die if you add it to boiling milk ?. Should we cool the milk to warm temp before adding the ingredients?

    1. Yes dry yeast.and you are adding yeast to boiled milk that is you boil milk then add the ingredients.since you are adding oats honey butter and yeast it will not kill the yeast.dont worry
