Sahlab Drink

 Sahlab is the name of a popular drink in Lebanon. It was introduced here by the Ottomans who ruled the region for four centuries. That is why one can find it served at cafés in Istanbul as well as in Beirut. It is made by stirring milk with some sugar and a whitish powder (the actual sahlab), which is extracted from a flower and gives the drink its characteristic creaminess and fluffiness.We can get the sahlab powder from Arabic shops and even without the powder it can be made😋😍

Ingredients
Milk-21/2cup
Arrowroot powder-5tbsp
Corn starch-1tsp
Milk powder-3tbsp
Honey-1/4cup
 Sugar-3tbsp
 Rose essence-1tsp
Saffron- a pinch(optional)
 Garnish
Powdered pistachios
 Dessicated coconut
 Cinnamon powder
 Method Take 1/4cup of milk in a bowl and boil rest of the milk.To the 1/4cup of milk add arrowroot powder,corn starch,milk powder,honey and essence and mix well.To the heating up milk add sugar and the mix we have prepared and keep atirring on low flame.Let it thicken to desired consistency ie only thick enough to be drunk.Switch off dkame and add saffron and mix well. Garnish and serve hot with powdered pistachios,dessicated coconut and cinnamon powder. Kids as well as adults will love this😍😋for its unique yumminess😍😋
