Restaurant Style Fish Masala
Recipe
Ingredients
King fish or any fleshy fish with bones removed and cut into pieces-250gms Marination
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Chilly powder-1/2tsp
Pepper-1/2tsp
Lime juice/vinegar-1/2tsp
Salt as needed
Masala
Onion sliced-from 1 onion
Ginger and garlic chopped-1tsp each
Green chilly-3chopped
Tomato-1chopped
Curry leaves-1sprig
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Kashmiri chilly powder-2tbsp
Coriander powder-1tsp
Fennel powder-1tsp
Fenugreek-1/4tsp
Garam masala-1/2tsp
Tamarind juice-1/4cup
Coconut milk or milk-3tbsp
Coconut oil
Method Marination Marinate the fish chunks with the ingredients given under marination for 30 minutes. Masala After 30 minutes heat coconut oil in pan and shallow fry the marinated fish chunks and keep aside. To the same oil add sliced onion and saute till transclucent.Add ginger garlic and green chilly and saute.Add turmeric,chilly powder,coriander powder,fennel powder,fenugreek,garam masala and saute till raw smell goes away.Add tomato and curry leaves and cook till mushy.Add the fried fish and tamarind juice and needed salt and mix well.Cover and cook for 7 to 8 minutes.Add coconut milk or milk and mix well.Drizzle 1 tsp coconut oil and mix. Your delicious restaurant style fish masala is ready to be served and relished😋
