Fish Biryani

Ingredients
Biryani
Basmati Rice-1 cup(I use Indiagate)
Water-2 cups
Fish-1/4 kilo(I used pomfret)
Onion-2big sliced
Shallots-5 sliced
Ginger garlic paste-1/2tbsp
Green chilly-2 sliced
Tomato-1 big chopped
Cinnamon stick-1 medium
Cloves-5-6
Cardamom-3
Bayleaf-2
Ghee-1tbsp
Butter-1tsp
Lemon juice-1tsp
Turmeric a pinch
Chilly powder-1 tbsp
Coriander powder-1 tbsp
Garam masala-1/2tsp (comprising of cinnamon,cloves,fennel,cardamom,star anise,pepper)
Curd-1tbsp
Cashew,raisins-1tbsp each
Salt to taste
Fish marination
Turmeric-a pinch
Chilly powder-1tsp
Pepper-1/2tsp
Vinegar or lime juice-1tsp
salt to taste

Method
Clean fish and marinate with the ingredients given under marination for 30minutes in fridge.Wash and drain rice and keep.Boil two cups of water with a tsp of ghee clives cinnamon cardamom and required salt..squeeze in few drops of lemon juice.Preheat oven to 180c and brush butter on top of marinated fish pieces and place them on greased lined tray and bake for 15 minutes then flip sides and bake for 20minutes or shallow fry them in oil.I baked them as I love that taste.Add the remaining ghee and 1tbsp oil fry 2tbsp sliced onion till golden brown also add cashew and raisins and saute.Keep them aside (its for garnishing).
Meanwhile the water would have boiled add the washed and drained rice and cover and cook.Add 3tbsp oil to pan add rest of sliced onion saute add ginger garlic paste and saute..add turmeric chilly powder coriander garam masala and cook till raw smell goes and add tomato and cook till oil seperates.Add the bajed or fried fish pieces curd and required salt and cook for 6-7minutes.Meanwhile check if rice is cooked and switch off flame.Now start layering rice and fish masala alternatively.
Garnish with fried onions cilantro (we dint like cilantro so just garnisged for namesake..you may use them generousky) cashew and raisins on top and cover and cook for ten minutes in low flame.
Your yummy Fish biryani is ready.Serve with raita.
