Fish Pickle
Recipe
Ingredients
Fish cut into tiny cubes-250gms(I used Modha fish)
Marination
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Chilly powder-1tsp
Coriander powder-1tsp
Pepper-1/2tsp
Garam masala-1/2tsp
Salt as needed
Gravy(for grinding)
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Chilly powder-1tsp
Coriander powder-1tsp
Pepper-1/2tsp
Fenugreek-1/2tsp
Mustard-1/2tsp
Seasoning
Ginger minced-2tbsp
Garlic minced-2tbsp
Asafoetida-a pinch
Vinegar-1cup
Salt as needed
Method
Marination
Mix the fish cubes with the ingredients given under marination and marinate for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile boil vinegar and let it cool.
Take 1/4cup of cooled vinegar and add it to.the ingredients given under grinding and grind in mixer jar to make a paste.
Gravy
After 30 minutes of marination heat oil in pan and fry the marinated fish cubes flipping sides till crisp.
Drain and keep aside.
Into the same oil add minces garlic and ginger and saute till golden brown.Add curry leaves and ground paste and saute till raw smell goes away.Add rest of the vinegar,asafoetida and fried fish cubes and mix well.Adjust salt and cook on low flame till it thickens and becomes dry.You can stop heating if you wish to have a gravy type of pickle as it thickens
Let it cool.Store in a dry airtight container and use the most delicious Fish pickle.
